On November 22nd, UK offshore wind firm Corio Generation and bp Alternative Energy Investment Ltd. submitted investment plans worth $1.16 billion for wind farm construction projects in South Korea.
Corio is developing eight offshore wind farms in South Korea totalling 2.9 GW, while BP intends to participate in South Korea’s renewable energy sector, including offshore wind.
The investment is projected to boost exports of Korean equipment such as tower structures, turbines, and power lines, as well as benefit the local economy and create a significant number of new jobs.

Corio Generation is a Macquarie Asset Management portfolio company that operates independently.
They have about 30 GW of projects in the pipeline. Their global team of offshore wind professionals takes projects from conception to completion, including development and construction.
